Guernsey County commissioners approve equipment purchases for area fire departments

CAMBRIDGE − The Guernsey County commissioners recently approved the purchase of new equipment for area fire departments.

In total, 14 Zoll AED Plus and two equipped first response bags were approved.

Antrim will receive three Zoll AED Plus units, Liberty, Old Washington and Pleasant City will receive two each, and Byesville, Fairview, Lore City, Senecaville and Quaker City will each receive one.

The Zoll AED Plus will be purchased from COROMED at a cost of approximately $745 each, for a total of $10,430. This equipment guides rescuers in performing CPR and provides integrated audio and visual feedback to support them throughout the rescue.

Both Fairview and Pleasant City will each receive one equipped first response bag.

These will be purchased from Amazon at a cost of approximately $400 each for a total of $800. These bags contain CPR devices, dressings, bandages, biohazard bags and gloves. All equipment will be paid for with American Rescue Plan Act funds distributed through the state.

In other business, the commissioners also approved a quote from Milfair Linoleum and Carpet Co. to install flooring in the title office lobby. The price quoted for the project is $2,997.
