Like most federal holidays, many government services in Columbus are closed Monday in observation of the holiday on President's Day.

So here's what to know about Columbus trash collection on President's Day:

Is there trash collection in Columbus on President's Day?

There will be no trash collection in Columbus on Monday.

The color collection schedule for trash will rotate forward one weekday and remain there until the next holiday, which will be Memorial Day, May 29. For those not on the color schedule, trash collection day will rotate one day forward, with Friday collection on Saturday.

How does the Columbus trash color schedule work?

Columbus uses a rotating color system and has five colors (one for each weekday): Green, gray, navy, pink and ruby. The trash pickups go in that order on weekdays, and holidays interrupt the schedule, meaning the collection day rotates one day forward until the next holiday.

March and April are the only months in 2024 where Columbus trash customers can expect their trash to be picked up on the same day each week of the month.
