Lehigh Acres woman, 38, dies after pickup strikes bicycle, troopers say

One of two drivers involved in a fatal crash with a bicyclist is on the run, authorities say.

The crash, which happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday along North Cleveland Avenue, near Judd Road, in North Fort Myers, left a 38-year-old Lehigh Acres woman dead.

Troopers said a pickup, driven by a 22-year-old Angola, Indiana, man was traveling on the outside lane of northbound North Cleveland Avenue, approaching Judd Road.

Authorities said, the bicyclist was crossing North Cleveland Avenue at the same intersection.

After the collision, the unknown car collided with the bicycle.

The bicyclist died on scene.
