Louisiana State Police: Bunkie, Marksville residents killed in single-vehicle crash

Two Avoyelles Parish residents died Tuesday in a crash outside of Bunkie, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers were called to the crash site about 12:50 p.m. on Clyde Smith Road in Avoyelles Parish, reads a news release. A preliminary investigation found that Carrington Ramos, 34, of Bunkie, had been driving a 2008 Acura RDX southbound when he ran off the road into a ditch and then hit a tree.

Neither Ramos nor his passenger, 30-year-old Elliot Charles Jordan III of Marksville, were wearing seat belts. Both died at the scene.

The crash, the fifth fatal one of 2024 in the 10-parish Troop E region, remains under investigation. The deaths bring the 2024 fatality total in Troop E to six.
