Milford police have charged three men in connection with an armed robbery on Jan. 9

MILFORD Police say they have arrested all three men responsible for robbing a Beach Street meat market last week.

Milford police arrested Daniel Generoso, 26, of Milford, at 2:30 p.m. Monday and Lucas Morreira Fontenelle, 21, of Framingham, at 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino. At 10:27 a.m. Tuesday, Jonatha De Araujo Lima, 19, of Franklin, was taken into custody.

The three men face charges related to the Jan. 9 armed robbery of Aroma Brazil at 2 Beach St.

"It was really the community's involvement that led us to them," Tusino said Tuesday. "The Brazilian community was outraged this happened. The phone calls I got were from people expressing a willingness to help us in any way they could. Without them, it would have been much harder to solve."

The first arrest, Generoso, included what police described as a "prolonged standoff."

Tusino said because the robbery involved a gun, police decided to use the SWAT team to serve a search warrant at Generoso's West Street home. They were assisted at the scene by Worcester police, Hopedale police and the Massachusetts State Police.

"We wanted to be careful and wanted to do this methodically," Tusino said, adding that Generoso was arrested without incident.

Police later on Monday arrested Fontenelle at the Holiday Inn Express on Fortune Boulevard.

Tusino said Generoso and Fontanelle are suspected of entering the store and committing the robbery. De Araujo Lima is believed to be the getaway driver.

Armed with a gun and wearing masks during the 9 p.m. robbery, police said the men stole "thousands of dollars" before escaping in a Dodge Durango.

Two men suspected of brandishing a gun and robbing a Milford meat market were scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Milford District Court.

Tusino credited all officers involved in the investigation.

"Good work by the detective division," he said. "They've been working on this case diligently all weekend and it was a good result."
