You can now play a round at golf courses around the world and not leave South Shore Plaza
Eat, drink and practice your golf swing at the newest virtual golf simulator on the South Shore.
Golf Lounge 18 officially opened its latest location Feb. 17 in Braintree at the South Shore Plaza near the Primark entrance.
The two-story facility uses technology from Trackman, which uses radar tracking and software to evaluate a number of data points like club face angle and ball speed. Take your pick and play one of more than 250 golf courses from around the world or try games like “capture the flag” or “closest to the pin.”
There are 13 bays that can accommodate up to six players each. Players are welcome to bring their own clubs or use those provided by the facility.
Patrons pay by the bay, not the player. The cost per bay per hour starts at $35 during off-peak hours, up to $70 per hour. Appointments can be booked between one and four hours long.
Memberships and lessons with PGA professionals are also available.
Golf Lounge 18 in Braintree is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The facility has a number of hand-held food items on its menu, from burgers to tacos to pretzels. There’s also a full bar and beers on tap, including local brews from Vitamin Sea Brewing and Untold Brewing.
This location marks the eighth Golf Lounge 18 in the northeast and second in Massachusetts. It also joins a booming trend of simulators opening on the South Shore, after a X-Golf America location opened in Hanover in December.
