New Peoria restaurant serves Indian cuisine
A new restaurant has opened its doors in Peoria's Campustown Shopping Center.
Rice & Spice offers a variety of Indian cuisine, including biryani, curry, dosa and more.
The storefront was previously home to Dac's Smokehouse, which closed its Peoria location on March 6, 2023. The smokehouse continues to operate at 25 E. Adams St. in Morton.

What are the hours at Rice & Spice?
The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The business is closed on Monday.
What's on the menu at Rice & Spice?
Rice & Spice features a variety of tiffins − which are defined as a light meal. The menu lists dishes such as:
A 3 piece Idly for $5.99.
Dosa − which ranges from $9.99 to $11.99. Customers can order a plain dosa – which is similar to a crepe in thickness and is often made using rice and lentils – as well as cheese dosa, egg dosa, masala dosa and more.
Utappam for $10.99 to $11.99. The dish can be served plain, with onions or paneer – which is a type of cheese.
A 2-piece chole bature for $12.99.

Customers at the restaurant can also find vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and curries. The menu includes curry dishes such as:
Mughlai veg for $12.99
Gongura veg curry for $12.99
Dahi chicken for $14.99
Afghani chicken curry for $14.99
Chicken tikka masala for $14.99
The menu also lists various rice dishes – such as lamb biryani – as well as naan bread, lunch thali and more.
