Police suspect homicide in case of 32-year-old man found dead over weekend in Melbourne

Melbourne police continue to sort through evidence in the suspected homicide of a 32-year-old man whose body was found at a residence on Saturday.

So far, no arrests have been made, said Sgt. Benjamin Slover, spokesperson for the Melbourne Police Department. The case is the 11th reported homicide for Brevard County since the beginnin of the year.

In the latest investigation, the body of Kenneth Johnson, of Melbourne, was found Saturday in a home located in the 700 block of McDermott Avenue. Officers were called to the site about 2:05 p.m. to investigate reports of a death and found Johnson's body during a search of the home.

"At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident," Slover said.

Police had few details on Johnson. It was also not immediately known if detectives had any suspects or leads in the case. An autopsy was slated to take place this week to determine the exact cause of death.
