Pro-Trump rioters cleared from U.S. Capitol

Metropolitan Police, Capitol Police, and the National Guard have expelled the group of violent pro-Trump rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol Building on Wednesday afternoon. Washington remains under an emergency 6 p.m. curfew as Congress reconvenes to certify the 2020 Electoral College vote. Check the Yahoo News live blog for the latest.

HUNTER WALKER: The guard is moving forward following a 6:00 PM citywide curfew that took effect here in D.C. This is Hunter Walker from Yahoo News. I'm reporting live. This is how the capital protests have ended. This is how police are clearing these crowds.

- USA! USA! USA!

HUNTER WALKER: This group includes D.C. Metropolitan Police and the National Guard. I believe battalions have come in from the neighboring states of Virginia and Maryland.

- We're just get started.

HUNTER WALKER: They're enforcing a citywide curfew that took effect in D.C. There have been repeated warnings broadcast to the crowd telling them they would be subject to arrest if they did not leave. And the police are now pushing forward to assist the remaining crowd of Trump supporters. They are being dispersed. And within the last hour or so law enforcement managed to establish a perimeter that now, now that this curfew is taking effect, they are widening. They're pushing forward into this crowd.

HUNTER WALKER: And this is the remaining crowd of Trump supporters.

HUNTER WALKER: And they are clearing out ahead of this advancing line of riot police from D.C.
