What should replace the old Christopher Columbus statue at Peoria's Bradley Park?

The Peoria Park District is asking for public input on what should replace the former Christopher Columbus statue in Upper Bradley Park.

Columbus's statue was taken down in 2020 after a long public debate.

Three options have been put forward to replace the statue: A permanent art fixture, rotating art work or an arch installation.

The Peoria Park District will be holding public events to get feedback on the options Feb. 20 and Feb. 27 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bonnie W. Noble Center for Park District Administration on Lake Avenue.

A Zoom link is also available for those wishing to attend virtually. The meeting ID is: 832 6086 2481 and the passcode is 874084.
