"A portion of the grant dollars will be used to install adult-sized changing tables in targeted community locations. These tables will create accessible facilities for individuals with physical disabilities. Having public restrooms or private personal care stations will offer a space where someone can receive personal care assistance while in the community,” said Michele Giess, Richland Newhope superintendent.

“Richland Newhope will be partnering with several community organizations to identify key locations throughout the community to install this personal care equipment with an overall effort to improve community accessibility for everyone,” she said.

The remaining grant dollars will go toward the large Sterkel Park renovation project that is underway. The project's second phase will begin this coming spring as soon as the weather breaks, with hopes that the new park will be open to the public before the end of this year.
