As the map above shows, up to 0.4 inches of snow is expected to fall Friday in the Salisbury and Ocean City area. Here's a deeper look at the forecast for Salisbury starting tonight and into the weekend.

In Salisbury, expect a low Wednesday night of about 20 degrees, with west winds of 5 to 8 mph. On Thursday, expect increasingly cloudy skies, with a high near 43 degrees, and southwest winds of 5 to 8 mph.

Thursday night brings the first chance of snow after 2 a.m., with cloudy skies, a low of about 30 degrees and south winds of about 6 mph, becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

On Friday, a chance of snow before 8 a.m., rain and snow likely between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., then a chance of snow after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 35 degrees and northeast winds of 6 to 8 mph, becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

On Friday night, a chance of snow, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low of about 20 and a chance of precipitation of 50%.

When will the cold weather ease in Salisbury area?

Along with the chance of snow, be ready for severely cold nights on Delmarva, with lows of about 18 degrees Saturday night and a low of about 19 Sunday night.

The temperatures will finally start to ease Monday, with an expected high of 43 degrees and a low of 28 degrees, and Tuesday, with a high of 51 degrees.
