See Tallahassee, Leon County power outage map as tornadoes, storms impact Florida

Power outages were reported in Tallahassee as a powerful squall line producing dangerous tornadoes moved across North Florida Tuesday.

Parts of Leon County were under tornado warnings by late morning and as the squalls arrived in Tallahassee electric crews and police units were sheltering in place "due to dangerous conditions."

The storms knocked out power to thousands of homes across Tallahassee and Leon County.

At 11:30 a.m., the City of Tallahassee's outage map showed 14,396 customers without power, while Talquin showed 17,430 customers affected and Duke Energy had 11,800 customers with no power.
