Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Wausau and Marshfield schools to close Friday for predicted snowstorm

As central Wisconsin braces for a predicted 5 to 8 inches of snow, local schools are announcing closures for Friday.

Here are the schools that have announced snow days so far.

Marshfield area

  • Auburndale School District is closed Friday and all before- and after-school activities are canceled.

  • Colby School District will be closed Friday. This is a traditional snow day and not a virtual learning day. All school extra-curricular activities are also canceled.

  • Columbus Catholic Schools is closed Friday.

  • Marshfield Public Schools will be closed Friday, and after-school activities and events have been canceled.

  • School District of Pittsville is closed Friday and there will be no virtual instruction. All after-school activities are canceled.

  • School District of Spencer is closed Friday.

  • School District of Stratford is closed Friday and all after-school events are canceled.

Stevens Point area

  • Almond-Bancroft School District will be closed Friday. This is a traditional snow day.

  • Iola-Scandinavia School District is closed Friday and all after-school activities are canceled.

  • Pacelli Catholic Schools and the Tim Copps Early Childhood Center will be closed Friday. All after-school activities are canceled.

  • Rosholt School District will be closed Friday.

  • Stevens Point Area Public School District will be closed Friday, with no remote learning expectations. All after-school activities also are canceled.

  • Tri-County Area School District in Plainfield will be closed Friday.

  • Tomorrow River Schools in Amherst will have a virtual learning day on Friday. There will be no in-person classes, games or practices.

Wausau area

  • D.C. Everest Schools will be closed Friday, including 3K, 4K, Adventure Care and early childhood. After-school activities and clubs also are canceled.

  • Edgar School District will be closed Friday. All after-school activities and events are canceled.

  • Merrill Area Public Schools will dismiss students at 1 p.m. Friday. There will be no afternoon 4K or early childhood classes and all after-school activities have been canceled.

  • Due to the inclement weather and the expected combination of high winds and snow starting this afternoon, there will be a 1:00 p.m. dismissal for students today. There will be no afternoon 4K/Early Childhood classes and all after school activities have been canceled. Please drive safely this afternoon.

  • Mosinee School District will be closed Friday and there will be no after-school programs.

  • Newman Catholic Schools will be closed Friday. All practices and after-school activities are canceled.

  • Wausau School District will be closed Friday. This will be a traditional snow day, and there will be no classes or virtual learning. All afternoon and evening activities also are canceled.

Wisconsin Rapids area

  • Adams-Friendship Area School District will be closed Friday, along with after-school activities and events. The district will implement its virtual learning plan for Friday.

  • Assumption Catholic Schools and the St. Lawrence Child Care Center will be closed Friday, along with after-school activities and events.

  • Nekoosa schools will be closed Friday.

  • Port Edwards School District will be closed Friday, with no remote learning expectations. After-school activities and events are canceled.

  • Wisconsin Rapids schools (public and private) will be closed Friday.
