Taunton resident Shawn O’Neill competed on "Wheel of Fortune" this past week.

While she didn't win, she had a very respectable showing, solving two puzzles and bringing home $5,000.

Taunton Hannaford damaged in storm

Hannaford Supermarket on Joseph Warner Boulevard in Taunton suffered weather-related damage in last weekend's storm.

The damage was specifically to windows and the front entrance area on the produce department side of the store, according to External Communications Manager for Hannaford Supermarkets Caitlyn Cortelyou.

While the rest of the store remained open, as of this writing, the produce section was temporarily closed.

Taunton schools have 20 open teaching positions

Taunton Public Schools is still looking to fill vacant teacher positions.

There are currently 20 teacher vacancies throughout the district including at Taunton High School, Parker Middle School, Martin Middle School, Joseph C. Chamberlain Elementary School, James L. Mulcahey Elementary School, Elizabeth Pole Elementary School, and Harold H. Galligan Elementary School.

This past week, there was an announcement from The Milk Bottle in Raynham.

They and the community have been mourning the unexpected passing of owner Joseph LoSciuto Jr., who died in December at age 68.

The LoSciuto family extended their thanks to the community, and announced that The Milk Bottle will be re-opening.
