Updates: Oklahoma City area school closures after Super Bowl Sunday snow
Football fans should exercise caution traveling to work Monday morning as heavy, wet snow was whipping through the Oklahoma City metro area during Super Bowl LVII.
The National Weather Service reports that areas of light snow will be possible across east central Oklahoma this morning. Although no additional significant accumulations are expected, slushy wet snow may create isolated slick spots on roadways. The snow will move out of the area by mid-morning.
The heaviest snow accumulations were expected across southwest into west-central Oklahoma near Lawton, and portions of western north Texas. A winter storm warning remained in effect until midnight Sunday.
As snow continues to taper off early this morning here is a look at preliminary snow estimates from across the area. This was compiled based on reports we have received so far. If you have a report to add, let us know! #okwx #texomawx pic.twitter.com/AJ36insZXb
