Videos, photos on social media shows flooding in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Florida

A line of thunderstorms dumped flooding El Nino rains on parts of Southwest Florida Monday.

Cape Coral was overrun by floodwaters after 3-6 inches of rain fell in a short time, overwhelming storm sewers that couldn't drain the water fast enough.

Streets in downtown Fort Myers were also submerged. Palm Beach Boulevard in both directions from Terry Street to Marsh Avenue and Fowler from Hanson Street to Edison Avenue were closed Monday night due to the flooding, The News-Press previously reported.
