The following cancellations and delays have been announced for Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, due to inclement weather.

Cancellations and delays due to snow, inclement weather

  • Washington County Circuit Court will open at 10 a.m.; staff and jurors report at 10 a.m.; court will begin by 10:30 a.m.

  • Washington County District Court will open at 10 a.m.; staff report at 9:30 a.m.; dockets will begin at 10 a.m.

  • All Blue Ridge Community and Technical College on-campus activities and in-person classes are cancelled, Wednesday, Jan. 17, due to ice. Remote work/online instruction continue as scheduled. Critical Operations report to supervisor.

  • Washington County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17. WCPS employees: Code Orange.

  • Saint Joseph School, Martinsburg, W.Va., will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17.

  • All Berkeley County (W.Va.) schools (PreK-12) will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17.

  • Greencastle-Antrim (Pa.) School District will operate on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Jan. 17.

  • All non-essential Washington County Government employees have liberal leave for Wednesday, Jan. 17, until 10 a.m. For additional information, contact Washington County's Public Relations and Marketing Department at 240-313-2380.

  • Trash and recycling collections in the city of Hagerstown may be delayed. Residents are instructed to leave trash and recycling at the curb to be collected. Clear a path in the snow from the street to your trash or recycling tote and make sure trash bags are visible and not buried in snow.   • All schools in Morgan County, W.Va. will be non-traditional learning on Wednesday, Jan. 17, Code A. Due to the expected low temperatures and poor road conditions across much of the county, Morgan County schools will close for in-person learning Wednesday, Jan. 17. This will be non-traditional instructional day no. 2. Employees will follow reporting code A.

  • All schools in Jefferson County, W.Va. will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17.
