Paul Ryan’s budget headed for a vote, Romney picks up another Bush endorsement, plus more to watch for Thursday in politics

Washington is catching its breath after three days and six hours of hearings before the Supreme Court on Obamacare. The case is now behind closed doors, and the decision won't come until June.

Across the street at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, House Republicans are ready to push through an election-year, $3.5 trillion budget. The blueprint, crafted by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., showcases a deficit-cutting plan for revamping Medicare and slicing everything from food stamps to transportation while rejecting President Barack Obama's call to raise taxes on the rich.

The measure is headed for all but certain passage, mostly along party lines. It's also headed for an all but certain demise in the Democratic-run Senate.

Out on the campaign trail, Rick Santorum will speak in California about foreign policy, and Newt Gingrich will take his trimmed-down campaign to Wisconsin. Ron Paul will be in the Wisconsin, too, and so will Vice President Joe Biden. He'll be in the Badger State to attend a fundraiser for the Obama Victory Fund.

Mitt Romney picked up Sen. Marco Rubio's endorsement Wednesday evening, and he'll officially get the backing of former President George H.W. Bush on Thursday afternoon.

President Obama will deliver remarks at the White House urging Congress to vote to "end the billions in taxpayer dollars handed out to oil companies every year," and the Senate is expected to vote on the Repeal Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act.

And then there is this: Thursday marks the 20th anniversary since former President Bill Clinton admitted experimenting with marijuana while attending Oxford University, adding, "I didn't inhale and I didn't try it again."
