Coronavirus global death toll surpasses 200,000

Here’s a recap of the global response to the coronavirus pandemic for Sunday, April 26, 2020.

More than 200,000 people have died from the coronavirus, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Over 2.9 million people worldwide have tested positive.

In the United States, more than 54,000 people have died, while there have been over 960,000 confirmed cases. President Trump's economic adviser said the jobless rates from the coronavirus will be comparable to the Great Depression.

In the U.K., British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is returning to work after receiving treatment in intensive care for COVID-19.
