Republicans thrilled to hurt kids and families

The front page photo on the January 12 edition of the Columbus Dispatch was very telling.

Rep. Gary Click and his colleagues showed their arrogance and ignorance in overriding Gov. Mike DeWine's veto of House Bill 68.

This override helps no one but injures so many families.  And yet, they are thrilled with themselves.

Real truth behind House Bill 68: Trans kids aren't taking over female sports or being 'mutilated.'

If they truly cared about children and families, they would pass reasonable gun laws and allow physicians and the parents who love their children to decide what is best for their families.

Seeing the image on the front of the January 12 Dispatch with Rep. Gary Click exulting, I could not help but see again the similar images of Hamas killers exulting after killing innocent Israelis.

I cannot understand the mentality of such hatred in the Middle East or here in Ohio of celebrating destroying the lives of others.

Sad!

Ignorance on full display

It appears that our Republican legislators like to show their ignorance.

They saw how people voted from their backing of bills on abortion and cannabis. Now they're too stupid to back their own Republican governor.

It will be interesting to see how many are still in office after the November election. If they don't like Mike Dewine they will hate a Democrat governor.

It will be a cold day in Hell before I'd vote for a Republican senator or representative.

Did DeWine play us?

Thoughts. Was the governor's veto of House Bill 68 political theater, knowing the Ohio House would override?

DeWine sabotaged trans Ohioans with executive order

Mike DeWine gave the appearance of compassion in his veto of House Bill 68 but what he really did was make getting transgender healthcare almost impossible for everyone in the state with his executive order.

Pretty much no provider can or will have access to his staffing requirements.

On top of that almost no one even knows what a medical ethicist is and why should their ethics be applied to my healthcare? I am a 48-year-old trans female who will likely have to leave the state if I can't get the healthcare I've been getting for over 4.5 years.

The hate from Republicans is not warranted as we just want to live our lives as ourselves.

Time to vote them all out

Anne Whitesell did an excellent job of providing examples of how legislators around the country have overridden the will of the people.

And, this was written before Ohio legislators overrode the governor’s veto of House Bill 68.

There is only one answer to legislators across the country subverting the will of the people.

We cannot pass constitutional amendments for every issue the people want as laws.

VOTE THEM OUT!  All of them. VOTE THEM OUT this year. Remember in November how they have restricted your rights. VOTE THEM OUT!
