Friday's storm fails to live up to forecast. Here's a look at how much snow fell

Sometimes the weather prognosticators get it wrong.

Up to six inches of snow was in the forecast for parts of North Jersey. Gov. Phil Murphy extended a state of emergency through Friday. Some schools were closed or many had early dismissals.

In the end, Friday's snowfall was underwhelming.

Here's a look at the snow totals, provided by Bob Ziff of the North Jersey Weather Observers (as of 5:30 p.m.):

  • Wantage - 2.1 inches

  • Sparta - 1.6

  • Stewartsville  1.5

  • North Haledon - 1.3

  • Ramsey - 1.0

  • Butler - 1.0
