With more than one billion users a month worldwide, the popularity of TikTok is on a continuous rise.

While the app boasts content creators from around the globe, what about ones in Wilmington?

From restaurants and real estate, to travel and tattoos, to beauty and baking, here's a list of 10 local TikTok accounts gaining traction on the social media platform.

With nearly 850,000 followers, Rebekah Carmichael is known on TikTok as Rebekah the Ghost Guide.

The content creator shares stories about her interactions with ghosts.

Some of her videos detail paranormal experiences at well-known Wilmington locations, such as Fort Fisher and Hell's Kitchen in downtown Wilmington.

Carmichael has previously worked for local ghost tours in Wilmington and began posting photos and videos from these tours on the social media platform in 2019.

Hans Westermark, a local cake decorator, has over 470,000 followers on TikTok.

Westermark works at Apple Annie's Bake Shop, located at 837 S Kerr Ave., Wilmington.

The content creator shows off his cake decorating expertise through brief clips, demonstrating the art of designing and icing a diverse array of cakes and cupcakes.

With 55,000 followers, On Thyme has gained impressive online popularity.

Videos, some with nearly one million views, highlight food staples of the Wilmington restaurant, such as their OMG fish sandwich, Philly cheesesteak eggrolls, and shrimp burger.
