Pair arrested in connection with deadly shooting at Brockton's Hibachi Sushi Supreme

BROCKTON — Two men have been arrested in connection with the brazen fatal shooting inside a city sushi restaurant on Friday evening.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office announced late Monday night that two arrests had been made in connection with the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Joe Araujo, of Brockton, inside Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet.

Prosecutors said a "non-stop investigation" led to the arrests of two men, who will be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Tuesday.

The Enterprise learned through court records that Jamal Augereau Bazile is facing a charge of murder while Nathan Veiga is facing a charge of accessory before the fact of murder. The DA's office confirmed the identities. It wasn't immediately clear if they're facing additional charges.

The arrests came two days after the DA's office released a graphic surveillance video that showed Araujo being gunned down in close proximity while sitting inside a booth at the restaurant. Several children could be seen in booths very close to where the gunfire occurred.

Police have not yet revealed a motive for the shooting, but the DA's office did say that "the victim appears to have been the target, and this was not a random act of violence."

More details are expected to be revealed during Tuesday's arraignments.
