Will winter weather derail an early spring? Check this week's forecast

The groundhog declared spring, the sunshine has been out and temperatures were on the rise going into the weekend, but no good thing can last forever.

There's snow in the forecast — depending on where you live.

What's the weather this week?

Despite the spring-like weather, Tuesday's forecast is reminding everyone that we are still in the middle of winter.

The snowfall line sunk toward the south after initial predictions, but the majority of impacted parts of our region can expect mainly rain with less than an inch of snowfall and the possibility of minor accumulation based on maps from the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will bottom out around the mid 30s Monday night, welcoming between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch of new precipitation that will continue into Tuesday morning rain and snow with a breezy high around 40 degrees.

The recent forecast shift was more drastic for areas of Bucks County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding region which can expect 3 to 5 inches of accumulation, so commuters planning to travel northwest should be careful on the roads.

The NWS advised that commutes on I-78 and I-80 corridors will be rough, and northwest I-95 drivers should be cautious.
