Donald Trump won the Republican presidential caucuses in Iowa on Monday night.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' campaign cried foul after national media declared victory for Trump before the Iowa Caucuses were even over. But DeSantis narrowly defeated former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Nikki Haley for second place.

Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out of the presidential race to endorse Trump.

How Trump won in Iowa

Donald Trump won the 2024 Iowa Caucuses in a landslide, securing an unprecedented victory over rivals who spent the better part of a year unsuccessfully urging Iowans to move on from a former president beset by legal challenges and the baggage of a failed 2020 run. Here's how he did it:

What happened with the early race call?

The Associated Press and other major news outlets such as CNN, Fox News and MSNBC called the race for Trump about 30 minutes after the caucuses began at 7 p.m. Only a handful of precincts had race results reported by that point.
